Terms of Use

These Terms of Use apply to the Kuru Rides passenger app, the Kuru Drive driver app and the website kururides.com (the "Services"), operated by Kuru PLC, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Kuru does

Kuru provides a technology platform that connects passengers with independent drivers of tuk-tuks (Bajaj) and cars. Drivers provide the transport service; Kuru provides the platform that makes booking, tracking and payment possible.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
• You must give correct information and keep your phone number up to date.
• You are responsible for activity on your account. Do not share your login or verification codes.

3. Passengers

• Fares are shown in the app before or during the trip and may include waiting time, night or peak pricing, and cancellation fees where shown.
• You agree to pay the fare by cash, Telebirr, CBE or another method offered in the app.
• Treat drivers and their vehicles with respect.

4. Drivers

• You must hold a valid driving licence and the permits Ethiopian law requires, and keep your vehicle roadworthy and insured.
• You agree to pay Kuru the commission shown in the Kuru Drive app for each completed trip, including trips paid in cash.
• You must follow traffic laws and treat passengers safely and respectfully.

5. Things you must not do

• Use the Services for anything illegal, unsafe or fraudulent.
• Harass, threaten or discriminate against anyone.
• Create fake accounts, fake trips or misuse promotions.
• Copy, reverse-engineer or interfere with the apps.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms.

6. Limitation of liability

We work hard to keep the Services available and safe, but we provide them "as is" and cannot guarantee they will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent Ethiopian law allows, Kuru is not liable for indirect losses arising from use of the Services.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information.

8. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms and will post the new version on this page. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
